Krishna district is an administrative district in the Coastal Andhra region of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Machilipatnam is the administrative headquarters and Vijayawada is the most populated city in the district.

Sri Durga Malleswara Swami vari Devasthanam

The Kanaka Durga Temple is a famous shrine dedicated to the Goddess Durga, located in Vijayawada of Andhra Pradesh. The temple is surrounded by the gentle hills of Indrakeeladri, right along the banks of the Krishna River.

Gandhi Hill

The first Gandhi Memorial in India, a Gandhi stupa was constructed, on Gandhi hill which is at a height of 500 ft . It was formerly known as "Orr Hill". It has the teachings of Gandhi inscribed on stone slabs.

Prakasam Barrage

Prakasam Barrage is 1223.5 m long built across the river Krishna standing on 160 pillars. It was completed back in 1855. It is the major source that helps in the irrigation of the agricultural lands of Andhra Pradesh. It serves as a road bridge as well.

Bhavani Island

Bhavani Island is located near the Prakasam Barrage. Ride to the island by boat is very pleasing.

Kondapalli Fort

This 7th century fort on the hill with an impressive three storied rock tower has witnessed the glory of many dynasties. It served as a business center in the olden days. Kondapalli village is situated 16 km from Vijayawada. The village is famous for toys made with a special wood that's found on the hills here. These toys are famous the world over as 'Kondapalli Toys'.

Machilipatnam

Machilipatnam, also known as Masulipatnam or Bandar or Masula, is a fishing port and a special grade municipality in the Bandar revenue division of Krishna district. Machilipatnam is a popular tourist destination well known for Kalamkari fabrics and Kalahasti decorations and its beaches. Manginapudi Beach, Dattashram, Panduranga Swamy temple, Machilipatnam Church, Ghantasala, Agastheeswarar Temple, Gudivada, etc. are some of the major tourist attractions in Machilipatnam.

Important elders who all contributed to establishment of SSSSO in District:-

Elders who have contributed for the establishment of SSSSO are Sri Y.V.Kutumba Rao Garu, (who after starting Samithi in Vijayawada) settled in Puttaparthi and discharged his duties as a Manager of Prasanthi Nilayam., Sri Sistla Nasimha Murthy Garu, Sri Kommareddy Sivaramakrishnanaih Garu, Sri Gade Atchiraju Garu and many more.
Swamy used to nominate the Office bearers in Vijayawada Samithi including bhajan singers co-ordinator.
Swamy Visited Vijayawada & opened Seethrapuram Samithi – Vijayawada, with his Divine Hands on April 6^th 1983.

Memorable activities in Krishna District: -

Services at Govt. Hospital during NGOs strike for 60 days in the year 1971.
Services during “DIVISEEMA UPPENA” in the year 1977 for which Swami sent food items, cash etc., and directed Sri Kasturi Garu, Sri Karunyananda Garu to visit the relief camps and give necessary guidance;
Swamy gave 1 Lakh Rupees Cheque to Kalyanamandapam in Jakkampudi long ago.
